Perhaps the most charming tidbit I carried home from a sweeping tour of French chateaux is that the castle in d'Usse was often visited by Charles Perrault, well-known author of many fairy tales. He had this castle in mind when he wrote "The Sleeping Beauty."
That was enough for me--I decided to design an etagere with the same qualities as our sleepy heroine: beautiful but demure. And the d'Usse Etagere sprang to life.
Finely crafted of black metal framing and thin glass shelves, it is also a décor powerhouse, well-suited for storing all manner of books and essentials as well as showcasing one's trinkets and treasures.
