Maelstrom Mirror

In 1000 AD, a bishop discovered an island he had never seen before from shore. He rowed to the island and celebrated mass. When he returned the island was nowhere to be seen. Norway’s King Sverre called this concept the Kraken in 1180AD, and spoke to the massive circular Maelstrom of aquatic chaos that resulted from the disappearing island.

The myth has enjoyed incredible staying power thanks to the enormity of the ideas within it. This massive circular mirror embodies that chaotic brilliance called the maelstrom that has a perfectly round structure that contains flourishing movement within and a perfect swirling circular center.
