The bookworm in me couldn't resist a day trip to Stratford-on-Avon, a market town about 90 miles from London. The birthplace and gravesite of William Shakespeare, Stratford-on-Avon is, unsurprisingly, a major tourist destination and currently houses the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. This is my mecca. Which is how, during this visit where so much of grand literature took root, I dreamt up the theatrical Stratford Stool.
It's a modern marvel that can double as an ottoman or even a chair, and its barrel shape is comprised of either a black or gold metal frame and a solid ceramic seat in your choice of four colors. It's clever and it's colorful, just like the most famous son of Stratford.
