We stood in line for 40 minutes to walk through the Palace of Versailles, and I must admit that the spectacle inside was worth the wait outside. It's way too over the top, far too opulent (over-the-topulent?) for the average person, even a fancy one, but I did come away with a new appreciation for curved lines and glass surfaces.
Both are well-represented in the Versailles Shelf, the minimalist's answer to how to store the few things she owns and do it in style. Six and a half feet tall and almost 48 inches at its widest, the metal and glass shelf is plenty strong but delicate in appearance, just the sort of display space for shining the spotlight on gorgeous accessories, books, and artwork.
