Our little English cottage, which we called home for almost a week while traipsing through the countryside, was older, smallish, and utterly charming. It took a while for me to get used to it, but one element I appreciated multiple times each day was a comfy wooden armchair in the living area. It had a wide seat, almost square, and it reclined at just the right angle for sitting in front of the fire or chatting with Gabe.
Our Chatham Chair is similar, though it’s crafted of plantation-grown mahogany with a handwoven rush seat. Both the seat and the back are softened by removable raw silk cushions.
