Whenever Gabe and I take a road trip, we make it a point to stop at thrift stores and antique shops on the way, just to see what various towns have to offer. We hit the jackpot a few weeks back when Gabe discovered a stunning cabinet underneath a smattering of coffee mugs, kitchen canisters, and salt shakers. (He always looks high and low, over and under at these places, and he is richly rewarded for it.) It had the lanky legs of a Federal piece, and its smaller size meant it could fit into lots of different rooms. I translated these traits into our Duncan Cabinet, which sits high on turned legs. The cabinet doors are fluted and framed, with fine beads tracing the trim. Behind the doors is a removable shelf that spans the whole cabinet. Tall enough for a bar and narrow enough for a dining room--a true workhorse. Dimensions: 47 x 19 x 47.25 in inches. Imported. Handling Fee is $120.
