Faiyum Hanging Light
Baskets were discovered as far back as 12,000 years ago in Faiyum Egypt. There were widely used due to the size and weight, much lighter than pottery. They had a wide range of uses such as gathering and carrying food, baby carriers, to catch fish, and even as bird cages. The basket is still used today for many things but one of the most popular is in home décor.
This hanging light is a very unique use for a basket. Hung upside down with a hemp rope and brass hardware, this gold round willow basket light is going to be a focal point in any home. Its handcrafted look and rustic weaving give it a feel of shabby chic meets bungalow life. It would look great over a dining room table in a quaint dining room or kitchen island. At 15” or 11" tall there is a larger and smaller version.
