Greenwich Dining Chair
“The Parsons chair is a classic,” my designer friend Gisela told me over lunch last week. “I just put it in an ultra-modern house because the wife wanted comfy dining chairs, and I’m about to order some for this country kitchen I’m doing.”
She waved her hand around: “A Parsons goes anywhere.” I had to agree: Four such chairs are clustered around my dining table right now. I have to confess, though, that I’m thrilled with our riff on the Parsons, which we call the Greenwich Dining Chair. Instead of a slipcover, the Greenwich is a solid cube from seat to floor, and rather than a straight back, it features a little scoop. I especially like the linen upholstery with its welting all along the seams. It’s a nice twist on tradition.
