“What. Is. That?” I remember saying this to my friend Cynthia, who had just invited me into her downtown apartment. She was whisking me down the hallway, and the corner of my eye caught a glimpse of something in her dining room. A small cabinet, it looked like. With sunburst carved on its doors. I had to have a closer look. She’d gotten it at some little shop years ago, she told me breezily: “Everyone always comments about it.”
I had to make one myself, and here it is - the Sunshine Server. The body is made of reclaimed pine in a two-tone gray finish. It sits delicately on a slim iron base, and the doors open up to reveal an adjustable shelf. It’s just right for a small dining room, breakfast area, or other nook where more storage--and a pop of sunshine--is needed.
