The Field Marshall's Desk
This beautiful handmade piece is a fine example of an authentic reproduction of a desk that belonged to my great-granduncle who served with the British in the Congo theatre. This style desk followed him on all his many engagements. Perfect for a time when high-ranking officials were expected to issue daily communique and reports on progress and losses.
During the age of travel that followed the first world war, this style was commonly adopted to more civilian use and became a favorite of the gentry or the new industrial class.
This reproduction is true to the original inspiration for this piece, detailed precision in subtle ways where it matters most, including the folding legs that made it a very portable desk or furniture item.
Dimensions: 62.5 x 18.75 x 34.2 in inches. Material: Mahogany Wood. Imported. Handling Fee is $75.
