Shukkei-en Vase

$325.00

The story of Shukkei-en, an historic Japanese garden, sounds common at first. Construction began in 1620, and it briefly served as a lodging for the emperor. Ancient, regal, and peaceful--that is, until 1945. That's because Shukkei-en is in Hiroshima, Japan, a short walk from ground zero of the nuclear attack on the city. The garden suffered extensive damage but reopened in 1951 after renovations, and it still stands today.

We wanted that same strength to shine through the thick walls of our Shukkei-en Vase. It is rugged, making it just the right addition to a farmhouse-style or industrial room. It's also classic in shape and neutral in either hue (the blue is as versatile as denim), so you could use it as a water receptacle outdoors, or bring it inside as a vase or sculpture.

Dimensions: 16.5 x 16.5 x 33.5 in inches. Imported. Handling Fee is $20.
