The original Chippendale style chair is named for master London cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale. In the 1700s, the Chinese Chippendale Dining Chair originally featured a top railing with a yoke shape, cabriole legs, and shell motifs. Mr. Chippendale was inspired by the shape of the Chinese Pagoda when creating the Chinese Chippendale Dining Chair, hence its geometric frame. A modern nod to the traditional Chippendale-style chair, our Chinese Chippendale Dining Chair features a faux bamboo frame in a sleek modern finish.
