I visited a monastery once during a trip to Henan Province, and its rare combination of ruggedness and royalty took my breath away. I couldn't get the contrast out of my head! Drum-shaped with the intricate cutouts of a traditional Asian masterpiece, it comes in an array of muted, jewel tones (plus gleaming white). Use them as end tables, ottomans, or seating that can move where it's needed--they're handy and handsome for accommodating a crowd.
