Provence was lush with orchards and fields of almost every imaginable fruit and crop. The French seemed most proud of the durum wheat that grew so heartily in the fertile soil, and wheat sheaves were popular motifs on furniture, walls, logos, and the like--wheat was everywhere. It is also on our Gerbe Chest, a diminutive chest of two drawers made of reclaimed pine and rubbed with a weathered gray finish. Dimensions: 24 x 14.5 x 30.5 in inches. Imported. Handling Fee is $50.
